On April 20-21, join us for Servathon, presented by HandsOn Greater DC Cares. Connect with thousands of other volunteers in service at area nonprofits and public schools and help make our community a great place for all who live here!
Servathon has a 21-year history of bringing together thousands of area volunteers for two extraordinary days of service. Volunteers who participate in Servathon have the opportunity to make a lasting impact at nonprofits and schools in our region.
We invite you to be one of the 7,000+ volunters on April 20-21 who will engage in service at Servathon. Servathon is a great place to get started volunteering or — if you have been a volunteer before — to try a new kind of project.
Just like with a Walkathon or Rideathon, Servathon provides an opportunity for participants to reach out to their networks to spread the word about the incredible work that HandsOn Greater DC Cares is doing and invite them to support the cause by making a donation to GDCC. We ask each Servathon volunteer to raise $100 or more, which enables us to manage thousands of volunteer projects on Servathon and throughout the year.
Given the current economic times, we know that the critical services provided by HandsOn Greater DC Cares are needed now more than ever. Over the past year, we’ve seen an increase in requests for volunteer services from nonprofit organizations, and we’re managing more volunteers each month than ever before. That’s why this year for Servathon, we’ve set an ambitious goal to raise $130,000- and we need your help!
Registration is easy, but the deadline is Monday, April 16th (earlier if we fill up)! Just go to www.greaterdccares.org to join a team or start your own. There’s a $25 registration fee that helps share in programming costs (paint, ladders, brushes, garbage bags, etc) and includes your event t-shirt, snacks/water at the project, and an invitation to our afterparty.
